As the crisp autumn air settles in the Upper Valley, the Northern Lights Quilt Guild (NLQG) is busy preparing for one of the region's most anticipated holiday events: the 28th Annual Pods for the Pulpit Crafts Fair. This year, we're thrilled to announce our participation in this cherished community tradition, where our handcrafted creations will shine alongside a dazzling array of local artisan crafts.

A Tradition Rooted in Creativity

Pods for the Pulpit, held annually at Tracy Hall in Norwich, Vermont, has a rich history dating back years. The event's unique name originated from the early days when members of the Unitarian church, who organize the fair, crafted angels and wreaths from milkweed pods. While the milkweed ornaments are no longer part of the fair, the name "Pods for the Pulpit" remains, symbolizing the event's enduring legacy of creativity and craftsmanship.

This year's fair will take place on Friday, November 29th, and Saturday, November 30th, 2024 - the two days following Thanksgiving. It's the perfect opportunity to extend your holiday spirit and perhaps begin your gift shopping with unique, handcrafted items.

NLQG: Center Stage with Handcrafted Treasures

The Northern Lights Quilt Guild is excited to announce that we'll have a prominent booth on the stage at Tracy Hall. Our members have been working tirelessly, pouring their creativity and skill into a wide array of quilted and handcrafted items.

Visitors to our booth will find:

  • Large quilts, perfect for keeping warm on chilly Vermont nights

  • Wall hanging quilts to add a touch of handmade beauty to any room

  • Charming little landscape quilts, capturing the essence of our beautiful region

  • Cozy baby quilts, ideal for welcoming new little ones

  • Lap quilts for comfortable reading or TV watching

  • Quilted table runners and placemats to add a festive touch to your holiday table

But that's not all! We're also offering a variety of other handcrafted items, including:

  • Journals with fabric covers, perfect for jotting down your thoughts or gift-giving

  • Waterproof car trash bags in fun fabrics, combining practicality with style

  • Children's chef hats and aprons, sure to inspire young cooks

  • Unique aprons crafted from men's shirts, giving new life to old favorites

  • Holiday ornaments to add a personal touch to your decorations

  • And more!

Each piece reflects the skill, creativity, and passion of our guild members, making them perfect as one-of-a-kind gifts or special additions to your own home.

A Showcase of Local Artistry

While we're excited to share our creations, Pods for the Pulpit offers so much more. As an annual quality craft show, it features numerous local artisans, each bringing their unique skills and creativity to the fair. From handmade jewelry to artisanal foods, you'll find a wide array of high-quality crafts perfect for holiday gifting or personal indulgence.
